Square Enix has announced that the PlayStation One classic Final Fantasy 9 will be coming to PC and mobile platforms this 2016.
The creators of Final Fantasy 9 has said it will release a port for the PC, Android and iOS devices this year, but no word yet on when the game will be coming to these platforms for the NA and EU regions.
Square Enix has promised that the Final Fantasy IX port will come with graphical improvements and new features like auto-save and high-speed modes that will let gamers speed through parts of the game without the need for grinding, as those who play on mobile platforms tend to be more casual players than your typical gamer who will be more willing to grind though games.
You can watch the newly released trailer for Final Fantasy IX below.
The trailer doesn’t show much other than cutscenes, but the battle system seems to have some visual upgrades and looks smoother compared to the original PS One game.
Final Fantasy VII has already been released for iOS users and so far no news yet for an FF7 Android port.
