NBA 2K16, the highly anticipated Basketball video game franchise has set a new record by shipping 4 million copies worldwide since its release last September 29, 2015, 2K Sports has announced. In addition to the physical copy record, the digital sales has also doubled.
“NBA 2K16, the latest iteration of the top-rated and top-selling NBA video game simulation series*, has set an unprecedented franchise record, selling-in over four million units worldwide within the first week of release.”
“To add to the critical and commercial success of NBA 2K16, this year’s iteration also has achieved several incredible year-over-year milestones since launch, including doubling sales through digital download and nearly tripling the number of games played online,” said Jason Argent, 2K’s SVP for Basketball Operations.
NBA 2K16 sold quite impressively worldwide despite the negative reception of My Career mode which was written, produced and directed by Spike Lee, major changes in the main controls and difficulty of the game.
The game is now available in the Philippines for Xbox 360 and PS3 for 2,245 PHP and PC, PS4 and Xbox One for 2,695 PHP.
