Rocket League has been an outstanding vehicle-based Soccer game so far, or should I say, an awesome Soccer game so far. Since it launched last month, it already reaches more than 5 million downloads, of course, take into consideration that it was free for PS Plus subscribers last month but, this game is really fun and addictive. You can play this as a single player, season mode or go online a play with different players.
The game also received positive reviews from gamers and video game blogs (check out our video game review of Rocket League here), but just like any other games, there is always room for improvement, and Psyonix, developer of Rocket League is quick to address the repetitive game maps.
“We wanted to start with the standard fields this time because we wanted to make sure everyone understood what the base game was, how we see the standard Rocket League experience being. We also wanted to promote competitive play in the game, and people who want extremely balanced competitive play and ranked modes and things like that, without adding a lot of extra noise,” said Dave Hagewood, boss of Psyonix Games.
“[W]e know the majority of players aren’t super competitive, they just want to have a good time–and we have a great time with the crazy different maps and so on,” He continued. “So we already have some of those in production to roll out later on,” added Hagewood during his interview with PC Gamer.
No words yet on when this free DLC is coming out but Hagewood is quick to announce that it will come out “very soon.”
