Hello Games’ very ambitious game is about to release soon and the anticipation is really building up to most gamers.
Development of this game may not be as smooth as the other AAA games because they have been a lot of delays since Sony officially introduced the game in E3 2014 but finally, after years of waiting, No Man’s Sky will be releasing for PS4 on August 9, 2016 and for PC on August 12, 2016.
Before to explore the universe of No Man’s Sky, here are the things to you need to know about the game.
No Man’s Sky universe
The game is marketed as a huge game and a lot of things to do in each planet and the universe consists of 18,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets. Whew, that’s a lot of zeros. Or generally speaking, No Man’s Sky universe is HUGE and Sean Murray, Game Director of Hello Games said that it will take you 40-100 hours to finish the game, however, the person who bought the early copy of No Man’s Sky for $1,250 said that the he finished the game in approximately 30 hours. Infairness to Murray, the guy who already finished the game rushed its gameplay to give an early review to the gamers.
Every planet has its own species, people, lands, water, mountains, continents, etc., and it will take you a lot of time to explore a single planet and do the things you want to do.
Gameplay of No Man’s Sky is divided into four – exploration, survival, combat and trading, and players will have a freedom to choose whatever they want to do. Playstation will not require PS4 gamers to have a PS Plus subscription in playing the game.
No Man’s Sky has no story. Just simply put the a player will just explore the planets, do a lot of things, do some mission and reach the center of the universe. Once you’ve reached it, that’s the end of the game. Sounds simple, right? Well, it isn’t and the game is time consuming which is good to a lot players, so they can truly maximize every centavo they used to purchase this game.
As mentioned above, No Man’s Sky consists of so many planets and each planet has their own qualities. Similar to real life solar system, if the planet is near to their Sun, that planet is hot, and the opposite applies when the planet is far from their Sun.
Some planets will be rich with resources and wealth, some are not. Some planets have their own deathtraps and radiation will can kill you instantly. To survive this, you need to upgrade your suit.
All planets will have day and night and some creatures are awake during the day, some are during the night so always be mindful of your surroundings.
In discovering or visiting a planet, if by any chance a player will be the first one to visit it and scan it, that will player will have the advantage to name to name the planet, of course, word filters are in order.
Ship is your mode of transportation in going to one planet to another.
Player can only have one ship at a time so it is very important to to choose the right ship for you. Whether you’re trading, fighting or exploring, there’s a right ship for that. You can also upgrade your ship to improve the speed, maneuverability, jump drive range or weapon power.
Players can purchase ship and it fuel in space stations found in the game.
Players can kill creatures in each planet or attack crafts but if you heavily do this, your wanted level will increase and will be hunted down by Sentinels, but don’t worry, not all planets have Sentinels so once the planet is Sentinel free, you can do killing spree to all creatures without affecting your wanted level.
Killing creatures is not the only thing to do here when it comes to combat. Eventually, players can meet some factions in which you can choose to help one and faction will reward you, attack a faction or just simply avoid them.
If ever you die during combat or in any part of the game, you will be revived back at your ship, or if you die in space, you will be revived back at space station without your ship and your items.
Units are the currency in the game. You can earn units by selling resources at trading posts, shooting down pirates, uploading discoveries to the Atlas.
Also, keep in mind that resources can also be used to craft technologies for upgrade so think twice when selling resources.
That’s it. Make sure to share your thoughts in the comment section once you already bought No Man’s Sky and played the game.
