Few days back, Final Fantasy Distant Worlds Producer Arnie Roth made an announcement during the Distant World concert in Pittsburgh that a Final Fantasy XII “Remake” is coming. The news was widely spread through video game blogs, forums and social media. This came in to surprise for many because the term was used in the announcement is “remake” wherein, the game will reproduce from scratch, not remaster, but just recently, Roth retracted the announcement through Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy Facebook page saying that there’s a mistake in using the word “remake”.
Here’s the post below:
In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh.
Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.
We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused.

It’s pretty clear in the statement that he retracted and apologized for using the word “remake” however, the release of Final Fantasy XII “Remaster” is still possible and we are all getting our hopes high that Square Enix will do this one.
