PUBG Corp. CEO Wants PUBG To Be Released To All Platforms

PlayerUnknown’s Battleground or PUBG is one of the biggest titles of 2017. Despite the game being on early access, gamers are willing to play this game and there are lots of popular Youtubers and streamers on Twitch who keep on generating videos of this game.

The game is so massive that it already reached 30 million players on Steam and Xbox One and because of its success, PUBG is one of the nominees for Game of the Year at the recently concluded The Game Awards 2017.

PUBG Corp. CEO Chang Han Kim wants to continue the success of the game and is planning on releasing PUBG to all platforms once the Xbox One exclusivity is up.

“As it’s going to be an exclusive title on Xbox One for some time, we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now. If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform.”

“Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality. However, PS is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took 6 months more to launch even when it was already completed. We are still in the stage of learning the console development environment and console gamers’ taste. We need to think about other platforms after evaluating and completing the Xbox One version first, said Chang Han Kim during his interview with Inven Global.

It was rumored back in October 2017 that Microsoft is in talks with PUBG Corp. for an extension of Xbox One console exclusivity of PUBG. No specific date in regards with the console exclusive of the game, however, Microsoft wants to extend it until the end of 2018 but based on the statement of Chang Han Kim, it seems that this request will not be granted as PUBG Corp.’s goal is to become a universal media franchise.

PUBG is currently on Early Access on Steam and Game Preview On Xbox One and there are no words yet on when will the version 1.0 be released.
