For two months in a row, Xbox One is the number one selling console in the US, outselling its rival PS4. The announcement was confirmed by Microsoft.
August was the month where Xbox One S was released and this console helped Microsoft to beat PS4. All thanks to its powerful specs, 2TB storage drive and reasonable $400 price tag, Xbox One is back on top.
This is a big deal for Microsoft because, since 2013, they are being outperformed by PS4 in terms of sales and performance and with the release of Xbox One S and the not-so-exciting PS4 Pro, it seems that the number one spot will belong to Xbox One in the future.
Xbox One S is not only performing well in the US because, after the Playstation Meeting, there was an 111% increase of sale fo Xbox One S FIFA 17 Bundle in Amazon UK. Yes, the love of UK to the sports of Football may contribute largely to this increase but there are lots of people who bought this Xbox One S bundle than a PS4 FIFA 17 games.
Xbox One S FIFA 17 Bundle soars from sales rank 36 to sales rank 17.
Xbox Marketing CVP Mike Nichols added this statement following the NPD chart release, “thanks to our fans and their excitement for new Xbox One games and the recently launched Xbox One S, which is the only console available this holiday with built-in UHD 4K Blu-ray, 4K video streaming and HDR for video and gaming, Xbox One was the best-selling console in the U.S. in August, according to NPD Group.”
Xbox One S is still available with its 2TB Launch Edition for $399.99, and some sweet bundles like Xbox One S 500 GB Halo Collection Bundle for $299, Xbox One S 1TB Madden NFL 17 Bundle for $349.50, and the upcoming Xbox One S 2TB Gears of War 4 Limited Edition Bundle for $449.99.
